  1. Almost Perfect 4 Star Review

Posted by on 4th Jul 2016

Top notch machining and just a beautiful piece of work.
I ordered this axle from my local hobby shop to replace one of my Vanquish Wraith OCP Axle Housings. Only ran into a couple of small problems.
    1. Once I got it all together, I can't tighten the set screws on my Vanquish Products Locker. Took it apart and reassembled it with the old Axial Locker and I'll just keep the VP locker with the OCP Axle... Problem solved.
    2. I'm using RC4WD 4mm Heim joints along with a couple of .040" beveled spacers (same width as as stock Axial ball ends and fit perfectly on my Vanquish OCP Axles with very little slop) This set up does not fit into the rear truss of the F9 AR60 I checked the stock Axial links and they do not fit either. (could easily trim the plastic spacer part of the ball) The space provided for all the links on my VP OCP axle is at least 0.295" wide and a little bit wider on my stock AR60 axles (plastic could be a little deformed) The Rear Truss for my Currie F9 AR60 Axle has just 0.279" wide openings for the upper links but the lower link mounts are 0.295" wide. Is this a design error? Traxxas ball ends are only 0.245" wide and will fit loosely in the openings provided. I look forward to giving the F9 a try!
